Why 29? The highest possible hand at Cribbage is 29 points when a player holds three 5s and a Jack, with the remaining 5 as the cut card, which must match the suit of the Jack (Nobs). This is an exceptionally rare hand, with odds of 1 in 216,580 in two-player games.
