Bangor Public Library Registration

Bangor Public Library cards are free to all Maine residents. To get yours, come to the Liberty Library and fill out a registration to get your card.

ADULTS
Bring an ID confirming your current mailing address. If your ID doesn’t list your current address, please bring in a document (mail, insurance, lease, etc.) with your name and current mailing address on it. If you already have a Liberty Library membership, you can forego this requirement.

TEENS
Bring in your student ID or use the proof of residency provided by a parent or guardian.

CHILDREN
Children 13 and under need a parent or guardian present to sign the registration form.

The registration card will be forwarded to the Bangor Public Library. This generally takes about a week.

To renew your card, visit the Bangor Public Library website.

BPL has a number of online resources and magazines, including Consumer Reports, that you can access.

You can also stream movies using cloudLibrary on your smart phone and tablet. Download the cloudLibrary app. Please note that you can use the same cloudLibrary app that you use for Liberty Library, but you will have to logout of Liberty Library and login to Bangor Public Library.  You can stream content such as movies and TV series from cloudLibrary and watch on your TV, but you must first have the cloudLibrary app installed on your phone or tablet. Then use these instructions (pdf format).

BPL also subscribes to Libby, formerly OverDrive, which can be used on all Kindle devices. Or download the Libby app on your smartphone or tablet.

BPL also offers passes.
