The Liberty Library is a non-profit organization and tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3). We get some funding from the communities of Liberty and Montville, but we also do fundraising throughout the year in order to support our collection and programs. There are several ways in which you can help:
-
- Money donations are always appreciated. Donations can be made online by clicking one of the the ‘Donate’ buttons above. The Paypal Giving Fund allows you to make a one-time donation and gives 100% of your donation to the library. The bottom button allows you to make a sustainable monthly donation. please send a check to the Liberty Library, PO Box 280, Liberty, ME 04949. For a cash donation, you will find donation boxes at the library..
-
- Create a lasting legacy by making a planned gift to the library in your will or trust..
-
- Tribute gifts are a meaningful way to honor or memorialize someone special. If you like, we will send a note notifying the honoree or family of your thoughtfulness. For a gift of $20 or more, we will purchase one book in recognition of this gift and include the tributee’s name on a bookplate. Or if you rather, you can make a tribute gift donation to support the library.
-
- We have a Wish List on Amazon.com. If you would like to donate an item, please visit our Wishlist and purchase an item. It will be sent to the library. Please let us know the sender’s name.
We are not accepting book donations at this time. If there is room in the Little Library, you are welcome to put them in there. If you have books to donate with 2024 copyright or newer, contact Barb or come to the library on Wednesdays and Fridays. The Library welcomes gifts but accepts them with the understanding that it has the right to handle or dispose of them in the best interest of the library. Materials may be added to the collection provided they meet the library’s standards of selection. Please make sure they are in good condition and aren’t something of an outdated or illegal format (no VHS’s, tape cassettes, or copied items). The library does not appraise gifts. If the donor needs an appraisal for income tax purposes, it is the donor’s responsibility to have the appraisal made. Please view our Collection Policy.
Throughout the year, we have Pie Sales and other fundraising events. Be sure to support these events by donating and buying.
Thank you for your support!
