The Ivan O. Davis – Liberty Library is a non-profit organization and tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3). Although we get some funding from the communities of Liberty and Montville, we also do fundraising throughout the year in order to support our collection and programs. There are several ways in which you can help us raise funds.
Money donations are always appreciated. Click the yellow ‘Donate’ button at the top of the page and make a donation through your PayPal account. Or send a check to the address listed on the banner. For a cash donation, you will find a donation box at the library.
We have a Wish List on Amazon.com. If you would like to donate an item, please visit our Wishlist and purchase an item. It will be sent to the library. Let us know and we would be happy to attach a bookplate to a book with the donors name or in honor of someone.
When you shop at smile.amazon.com, Amazon donates 0.5% to charitable organization of your choice. Please choose ‘Liberty Library‘. Note the Amazon Smile icon at the top of our webpage which makes it easier to always start your shopping there.
The Library welcomes books and gifts but accepts them with the understanding that it has the right to handle or dispose of them in the best interest of the library. Materials may be added to the collection provided they meet the library’s standards of selection. If you are donating items, please make sure they are in good condition and aren’t something of an outdated or illegal format (so please, no VHS’s, tape cassettes, or copied items). The Library does not appraise gifts. If the donor needs an appraisal for income tax purposes, it is the donor’s responsibility to have the appraisal made. Please view our Collection Policy.
Throughout the year, we have Pie Sales and other fundraising events. Be sure to support these events by donating and buying.
Thank you for your support!
PCs for Maine has nominated the Library for their Give IT – Get IT program in order to purchase newer and safer computers. We need new equipment in order to take advantage of the new circuit speed of 100Mbps. You can make a contribution to the Ivan O. Davis – Liberty Library here.
