Interlibrary Loan Policy

Interlibrary Loan is now FREE! The Liberty Library is part of the statewide Interlibrary Loan Van Delivery Service, a voluntary service where participating libraries use a courier to deliver library books and materials to facilitate interlibrary lending and borrowing throughout the State of Maine.

Requestors must have a valid Liberty Library membership and the account must be in good standing. We will have delivery one day a week and you will be notified when your item is available for pick-up at the library. The due date of items vary according to the lending libraries. The Liberty Library does not charge overdue fees but the sending library may have an overdue fee which you will be responsible to pay if applicable.

The Liberty Library is not a participating library in MaineCat Statewide Catalog. However, you can search this database of more than 100 library’s collection (including Minerva libraries) for title and author. When you find an item you would like to borrow, you will not be able to use the built-in requesting management system to make an online interlibrary loan request, but you can find accurate information about title, author, etc. so that your request can be fulfilled accurately.
