Liberty Artists Group Show

“Gourd” Oil on panel by Kris Engman

Exactly ten years ago, Liberty artists exhibited their artwork at the library in July of 2009. Returning in July with new works are Alan Crichton, co-founder of Waterfall Arts, and long noted Midcoast arts teacher, commentator, and painter; Dianne Schelble, featured artist in Palette Magazine in 2018, whose paintings have been recently acquired by the U.S. State Department’s Art Bank program; and Kris Engman, painter and sculptor whose work has been shown from Maine to California, who continues to evolve her artistry while teaching workshops in collaboration with Waterfall Arts in Color Theory, Drawing, Gilding, Calligraphy and Design.  They will be joined by Martha Piscuskas, well-known in the Midcoast arts community through her role as co-founder, Program Director and Executive Director for Waterfall Arts until  leaving this year and now working for the Maine Arts Commission; Hugh Mahon, with a career as art educator and artist in diverse media in New Jersey, and long-time summer resident of Liberty;  and  Sett Balise, a self-taught painter and potter whose work includes functional reproductions of ancient to medieval items as well as modern and fantastical work.
